"Naegino Sora is a 16 year old girl who yearns for the "Kaleido Stage" she once saw with her now deceased parents. And so, alone she sets off to America from Japan to go for an audition.

However, Sora arrives at the audition late and misses her chance of a lifetime... But that is just the start of the challenges that she must face to become a top entertainer. As she works hard on beautiful stages and goes through times of discouragement, the conscience of a professional awakens in her."

Kaleido Star is a show about a circus that sorta reminds me of Cirque de Soleil, an acrobatics circus. It's pretty good, I enjoyed it. Sora shows up late to the auditions for Kaleido Stage, so she starts off on the wrong foot with the star and has to work hard to get recognition. The story progresses pretty solidly, they have their ups and downs, conflicts, fun times, bad times, etc etc. I'd classify it as a "feel good" anime, where the character grows quite a bit by the end. It has its goofy moments, but then it's hard to find a title that doesn't heh.

I'd say 8, maybe 9/10.

PS, at 51 episodes this is a bit longer than the fairly standard 13/26 kind of show but unlike a few long shows I've watched this doesn't get stale by the end. In fact, I wished there was a season 2 with another 51 eps, hehe. I liked this show enough to watch all of it and the OVAs in two days
