When i first saw that Mushishi ranks in the top 10 in both AniDB and Anime News Network, i read it's description and wondered why all this high rating over a lame-ass series(as it sounded from the description)
but i did a little research and found that most people who watched it has liked it, so i decided to give it a try. after i finished the 1st 4 episodes i was totally hooked to the anime it was really amazing, it's something totally different from what i ever watched. Not to mention the animation and soundtracks were extremely nice. well this type of anime is the melancholic type where every episode is a different story it has no action or the fanservice we usually see in most anime the main potential of this is the storytelling of the traveling mushishi(mushi master) named Ginko who travels and solve problems related to mushi(starnge creatures). While it sound kinda repetitive, each episode is entirely different and no 2 episodes are similar in anyway it's not the usual "evil vs. good" stories, and not "the protagonist always wins". While some episodes have happy ending some have tragedic endings and stories are always done in a very nice way so far it is almost my best anime i recommend it to everyone who appreciates good stories, and want to take a rest from the stereotype anime and see something totally different

I liked Mushishi, though I can't help to feel a bit irritated by it's style, in a way (too lazy to explain...)
. Ahh, I've seen 11 eps thus far, it's 'on hold' for me, currently (Cause I have so much to watch)... So didn't get me hooked, really, but a great anime nevertheless. Has some episodes I'd consider 'perfect'- The style is somewhat Miyazaki-sh, but has a bit more melancholic atmosphere. Dunno what else to say... I'll definetely finish it someday, it's that good. |

Ironone, happens sometime in Japan, like, in the past but can't really locate the time exactly. And we have this sort of a witch-doctor, Mushi-shi, who studies Mushi, said to be a form of pure life. He also goes around healing people that have an illness caused by Mushi, like horns growing from their forehead or blindess caused by trying to see emptiness and so forth. A really soothing anime, and definetely individual...
