Yup, I'm sure I know what you're thinking ! "Full Metal Alchemist ? It was one of the first anime I watched ! Why read the manga of such a great anime when it was so good, the manga is bound to be the same thing"

Well it isn't ! My friend started passing me the manga, I read it in the bus

and the storyline is different. The first volumes are the same but slowly the storyline starts diverging, many laws and ways of thinking [e.g : human and "alchemy" world] doesn't exist in the manga and the manga is slowly developping the storyline into a bigger more evil plot. To top that off, is Ed's father the mastermind 'called "father"' in the manga, the creator of all homunculus.. Who knows ?! There are so many changes and it's well worth the read, so go and read it ;P

the manga is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beter than the anime the only prop i got with this manga is that the author release's r too slow other wise it G-R-E-A-T

I prefer the anime personaly, it has more heart and its directed so well. The plotline feels less all over the place like the manga--but I admit the manga is way more funny whereas the anime is more melodramatic.

I prefer the anime, it's more... I don't know, emotional? (in a great way, of course). And I personally think that the anime plot is better than the manga. The manga is lighter than the anime, and the plot is really different, especially on volume 9 and up. The characterization is slightly different, too. Ed is more sneakier and Al is not as doted to Ed as in the anime

Yeah, the manga story is much better than its anime counterpart... I need to read the latest chapters though (from 73 on)...

I think the both the manga and anime are great. But still the manga has the upper hand to me due to its plot twists.

So I never read it but I do know that the Anime went and made episodes that weren't in manga format so they were just anime filler almost. Did the manga end differently than the anime or did the manga start to follow the anime

The manga hasn't finished yet and it has a different story continuation compared to the anime

He, I have watched the anime, and it was really good, liked it and so on..
So, now when you tell me this.. and the other posts that I have seen about the manga
I will give it a try! But I really think I will like it as well... xd
