Title: Trinity Blood
Type: Series (24) Overall Rating: 4.3/5 Animation Rating: 4.9/5 Character Rating: 4.9/5 Plot Rating: 3.7/5 Soundtrack Rating: 3.5/5 Synopsis: In a post-disaster world that wiped out much of the technology and a lot of the population, there is an ongoing war between the Vatican and the New Human Empire, which is comprised of vampires (or Methusulah). The story centers around the exploits of Abel Nightroad, a Crusnik and member of AX (a militant department within the Vatican); and Esther Blanchett, a girl whose family was murdered by vampires and has since become a nun in the Vatican. Throughout the series, Abel and Esther battle against enemies in both the Empire and the Vatican, ultimately hoping to create lasting peace between the two. However, there is a third group, known commonly as Rosenkreutz Orden that seeks to stop peace from being made and bring upon the downfall of life on Earth. Review: Animation: Excellent quality animation. Superior visuals to most other shows that allows room for little improvement. Fight scenes are animated well the surroundings are crisp and well-made. Only the highest level CGI effects are superior to the animation found in Trinity Blood. Characters: The main charecters are excellently done. They are believable and in most cases personable. It is obvious that they were made in the hopes that viewers would become attached to them and this was done expertly. You find yourself cheering on Abel and Esther, and saddened when a charecter is injured. The secondary charecters are a bit of a mixed bag unfortunately. Some of them are done just as well as the main group, especially The Professor, The Count of Memphis, and Asta; but charecters like the Pope, and the other members of the Vatican are flat and at times (especially with the Pope) annoying. Overall though, they did a great job with the important people. Plot: The main charecters are excellently done. They are believable and in most cases personable. Sountrack: In my opinion, both the introductory song and the ending song weren't very impressive (the opening lyrics of the intro talk about listening to boring music, and that pretty much describes the experience of listening to the opening song). The score throughout the show was not a hindrance, but it didn't add hardly anything to the show. The score isn't bad, but one would expect more from it.
