The voting system here in the US is flawed. When I took government 1301 over a year ago it became really apparent. If a state has like 45% of its people vote one way and 55% vote another, all its electoral votes go to the 55%. I think it should be straight population. By doing what it is now, one person can have more votes from the people but lose because the votes were discarded because they were a lower percentage in several states. So for each time that happens... its the same as that lower percentage of every state has no say whatsoever even though it may of been majority vote from the people.

Yea I understand what you mean, its not really numbers but rather percentage. It's just that its difficult because someone will have to come up with a system to organize over 6 million votes :/. I personally would be too bothered by it so we have to live with this, well for now anyways :P

Democracy, is both good and bad...

Its fine as long as it isn't so chaotic...

It still needs so many changes and improvement though...

Our country is a democratic one... Though here, you'll never know if you'll get shot or anything...

I think it is not the type of government that is the problem... I think the people are... Unity is also what we lack...

Naw, Democracy itself is great, if everyone wasn't so greedy, power-hungry or aspiring to make a name for themself. Most of them don't even care about the public, you see this when they make promises to "help" the community. Its obviously a bait to get voters, thats about it. I know for a fact that most political leaders don't give a rats ass about their people :/

democrace is a good fantasy i gues..........

people are fed with the idea that they choose how to run the country , but it always ends in a protest fight on the streets , where the government gets downpoints because police people are hitting them with their battle sticks............(dnt know english name for it)

well i state : democrace is the only aceptable control system in the world , if a maniac gets power he kan be kicked of ( no offense , but look at sadam) , and then again people dont need to go and medle in other countries politics , people are used to there way of life and medling/interfering leads to endles war.

another reason is thus : democracy gives people the feeling that they are safe and protected , so a country/state that aplies democracy in its politics ; will have much hapier people..........

thus my shortened version of what i think of it anyway....

There is absolutely nothing good about current democracy, and what is happening now in the war is completely different. You probally know this, but a soldier needs weapons correct? Well the manufactuer of these said weapons is located in the U.S. and the owner of this company is none other than Dick Cheny, the vice president. If you didn't know already, he has much more political power than george bush. Originally, the war occured because of oil, and because some figurehead wanted to control more oil mines to profit more. Although suddan was not the greatest of leaders what is happening isn't to free the people of iraq. Thats just something the government is using to cover their acts up, I mean seriously if you were trying to fix a country why would you send soldiers in there for such a long time.

The 'best' kind of government to go with is either a republic or a dictatorship. And yes, I'm serious about dictatorship too. Dictatorship is the best out of all of them if there leader is NOT corrupted, which most people are nowadays. Republics are flawed since they are based on finiancial statuses of individual people.

You have your facts VERY wrong, you might as well get them correct first.

Firstly : Republics : Form of democracy >_>, just a bit less democratic
Also Dictatorships are MORE CORRUPT than democracies, it's a well known fact, look at china, it's only now the president of china is starting to clamp down on it.. a bit :\

Ok, Americans democracy --> screwed up , you just proved it yourself, the people are afraid of the government when it should be the other way around, i don't really think of america as a complete democracy.

Proper democracies ? Look at France , i live in france ^_^ , people arent afraid of the government at all, [thus you hear about all the strikes etc..] They'll fight the government and have no fear

i must say , people arent afraid of the government at all like previously stated...........
here in belguim , if a cop gets violent and breaks some protestants arms with his battle sticks
( im back with the batle sticks , why dont call them lightsabers .....damn)
people run or people start an instant fightback , no this hasnt hapend a lot anymore ....... because the police learnt his leson.......
and they learned to listen a bit more to the people........

as for the rest.......the belgian democracy is as corrupt and money focused as it can get........
and they are so good at hiding , that all the poor or interested people want to live in belguim.....
and afterwards when they became full belgium , they just curse their country and love it at the same time......

and what has this to do with democracy ? read between the lines......or the small letters......

and yea, Dictatorship is a lot better, mainly because its an absolute ruler, there reason why democracies exhists is mainly becaue of greed and corruption. Why? well mainly because...

A) If there was a decent king ( like there have been, several of them) people do not rebel. Becuase they are content.
B) Current US situation. A lot of people don't like the war, but its all talk I guess. Personally i don't know all that much about it, so i'm not opinionated at all.



and yea, people here are afraid of teh cops. I don't care though, I don't do anything worth a club.

and people who keep saying "democracy is the best" are not really thinking for themselves, empires run by an absolute ruler end up a lot better, well except when a crap ruler takes over... And we ahve a crap president right now too .

america's been in a pitfall economics wise after 9/11 :/
