Default PETA tries to compare beheading on greyhound bus to livestock

This is why I have no respect for anyone who joins PETA.I am sure the victim's loved ones appreciate retards comparing their loved one to livestock who get sent to slaughter houses, butchers and finally your dinner table.

As though it were a gruesome scene in a horror movie, a Canadian Greyhound passenger found himself in the hands of a highly disturbed man this past weekend while en route from Edmonton to Winnipeg. Passengers riding the bus reported that Vince Weiguang Li jumped on top of 22-year-old Tim McLean and began stabbing him repeatedly before cutting off his head and allegedly [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Parts of McLean's ear, nose, and mouth were found in Li's pocket.
This tragic incident will certainly leave scars on the minds of the other passengers and the victim's family and friends. While it isn't every day that a human is violently attacked and eaten by another human, it's worth noting that it is the norm for many people not to give any thought to the fact that restaurants are serving flesh that comes from innocents who were minding their own business before someone came after them with a knife. How amazingly and conveniently compartmentalized the human mind is…
To stress this very point, PETA will be running an ad in the Portage Daily Graphic comparing the similarities between this gruesome bus butchering and the acts of cruelty and killing performed every day by the meat industry.

Of course this is not the only idiotic things PETA does.

PETA’s letter to Yasser Arafat

February 3, 2003

Yasser Arafat, President
Palestinian National Authority
Ramallah, West Bank
Palestinian Authority

1 page via facsimile: 972 7 282 2365

Your Excellency:

I am writing from an organization dedicated to fighting animal abuse around the world. We have received many calls and letters from people shocked at the bombing in Jerusalem on January 26 in which a donkey, laden with explosives, was intentionally blown up.

All nations behave abominably in many ways when they are fighting their enemies, and animals are always caught in the crossfire. The U.S. Army abandoned thousands of loyal service dogs in Vietnam. Al-Qaeda and the British government have both used animals in hideously cruel biological weaponry tests. We watched on television as stray cats in your own compound fled as best they could from the Israeli bulldozers.

Animals claim no nation. They are in perpetual involuntary servitude to all humankind, and although they pose no threat and own no weapons, human beings always win in the undeclared war against them. For animals, there is no Geneva Convention and no peace treaty—just our mercy.

If you have the opportunity, will you please add to your burdens my request that you appeal to all those who listen to you to leave the animals out of this conflict?

We send you sincere wishes of peace.

Very truly yours,

Ingrid Newkirk
President, PETA

Well I'll say this, yes they are being a bit too extreme to the point I was asking myself if this was a comedy blog =\. However some things they have written there is just pure disgusting (I'm talking about the KFC thing)

Well that's just my say ^^

Personally I don't take PETA very seriously, their views are farces... well not really.

Some issues like animal mistreatment are important, but I'm completely missing how they would want to publish a story about a man jumping up and eating another man. Its out of norm for one thing, and how would this make people vegetarian T.T

I think that PETA is just getting a little desperate for attention is all

The basic ideals of PETA are nobel, whether you agree with them or not. Their basic goal is to stop animal cruelty.

That being said, many of PETA's actions are absurd bordering on disgraceful.

To use the tragic killing of the teenager on the greyhound bus to further their agenda is sickening, as are many of their other campaigns. I personally agree that animal cruelty is a major issue that must be dealt with, but I am in some ways more against PETA than animal cruelty. Their actions divert attention from the issue, and many people become more enraged at PETA than they might be at those who perpetrate animal cruelty.

PETA does their own cause damage with their activities.

Whatever motivation they once had is now gone. Although you may believe that they once had a noble origin, their actions now do not in any way reflect how the generall public had wanted to group to move. Perhaps the people have just gone insane, as the actions of late seem to be too immorale even for an under-handed politician to use.
