Default The economy.. depression.. recession.. nothing ?

Well as the American economy starts to slow down, the effects are starting to effect other countries as well, like Europe and Asia.

It makes me wonder if there will be a depression.. that would be very bad , I mean imagine 10 years of depression where you can't get jobs etc..

Well, I honestly don't know what the future holds, I'm hoping that this will just be a small recession for 1 year max and it'll go away but there's a part of me that thinks that , that is just too much positive thinking.

What do you guys think about all this ?

I don't believe there will be any problem really.. The economy changes a lot and seems just to be slowing down some.. It will stable out and start on a raise before anything drastic happening, like that imaginary 10 year depression..

Like the economy of my state I live in, it use to be one of the lowest in the US and it settled/stabled out and is on a slight rise(not huge, but slight)..

In my mind, it's not gonna crap out and drop so far that leads to another depression or even one as bad as your thought. People just look too much into things and think something bad is gonna happen, but I don't believe it's gonna drop so much that any kind of depression hits.. Might drop to a point but not far enough to hit that low of a point.. Our up coming Presidential election will help (probably), if we don't get stuck with a 'stupid' Democrat.. (sorry if that offended anyone who is a Democrat)

But as said, I don't think it'll go so far that it creates huge problems like depression or anything...

*supports democrats* >.>

Well this isn't a political debate place, so i'll leave it at that xD. Well I hope it doesn't become a depression, but it is still a possibilty, after multiple crises.

Never really wanted to try and think about this, but I think that a "depression" may be on its way in the near future. It won't be anything like the stockmarket crash that led to the Great Depression, but it'll make things get somewhat similar to it, in terms of work anyways. Who knows, this might actually be a good thing ( wipeout of people, seems wrong but over-population is even worse )

Pretty safe to say that were in a recession but I think the U.S. will pull out of it before it gets as bad as a depression.
As long as big corporations have faith in the dollar, everyone else will and no one will be making the stock market plummet like it did on October 29, 1929.
If it got that bad the world would likely be in trouble because of the U.S.'s involvement in international trade is huge.

I sure hope Depression doesen't hit America for a long long time, I mean with the economy turning bad and all like it is right now, it's safe to say that people will live in poverty constantly, join gangs, murder for money you name it, It'll be a terrible world to live if worst comes to pass...

Nope. Never will happen. US will definitely finish this shit soon and go back to where it should be. But you can`t always guarantee anything with Bush around

seriously if they cud do that then the Great Depression would never have happened, but i do agree with NDH since people arent that stupid to do the same thing that happened during those dark times. and yeah totally agree with the bush comment since hes a total idiot, hopefully they get a better person for the job with the election, whenever that finishes, maybe sometime later this century

With the way things are looking now, it is very probable for Obama to become the president of the USA. I'm a little concerned about this, since he isn't exactly the most "experienced" canidate there is... :/

I guarentee you people will be stupid enough to try to do the same thing again. However as for the USA, laws were already passed to try to prevent this from happening . I'm sure many other major countries have similar laws >
