Default Site makeover when changing server

I've been thinking, maybe it'll be better for me to totally remake this site, in a lighter color, I prefer lighter colours ^^ ~ Right now there are a couple of problems ^^
I've also decided to install a fresh copy of joomla and completely redo the site, but this will also allow me to add cool things and experiment a bit
1stly Time ^^ Obviously something on this scale will take huge amounts of time.

Secondly choosing a template ^^

right now I'm looking at this one :
http://demo.webrevolution.org/joomla...tpage&Itemid=1
This one :
http://eshop.webrevolution.org/index...roduct_id=1637
and this one :
http://eshop.webrevolution.org/index...roduct_id=1635

3rdly : GRAPHICS, Making a new site, means I'll need new banners done, so if anyone knows GOOD PPL who make graphics (Like the banner on this site ^^) Please say so . Thanks ..

~ Ok that's all , Please Put your input , it would be very helpful

I know several skilled graphic designers, I havn't spoken to them in some time, but I think I still have their e-mails. If you want, I can contact them.

As for redoing the site, DON'T USE JOOMLA!!! Use something that doesn't screw up everything in IE! :P

Nah, I have special mods (for IE, not Joomla...) to fix Joomlas screw-ups, but it isn't like they can be given to everyone that uses IE 6, especially since they are for IE 7.

Oh yea, I forgot to comment on the templates. ^^'

In my opinion, they are too professional, but, I'm fine with whatever is chosen.

Yh I guess it is true they look a tad bit too professional , but I'm having trouble finding a neat, light coloured template, if I find another template, I'll shove it on the list ^^

Though one thing i'm considering is making the whole site with AJAX technology ^^

Ok Check These templates out , They're well known thanks to their low loading times.

http://demotemplates.joomlashack.com...fast/index.php

http://demo.studentsdesign.de/ --> Scroll in Commercial Templates and look at the Templates that end with _ajax ... These templates may look cheesy, but I can totally change the images to make them into anime images ^^

The lightfast one isn't so bad. I'd go with that.

Actually make a new thread with a poll.

For experimenting I just setup a test domain. (test.crashanime.com) and I just use it as a sandbox to play w/ new modules before actually trying them on the live site. Helps out because if you run into a major problem you don't have to worry about disrupting the real site....you just reload everything on the test site and try something else

That is a very good thing to do, but having the test site on the same live server could still be harmful. A while back, I was working on a rather lengthy modification to phpBB 2.0.14 on a test site, of course, and when it failed, it actually corrupted my database server, resulting in the loss of all my database data, not to mention all the time I spent trying to install the modification.

I run three to four dummy servers, all with different server settings so I can experiment on a completely remote server in various enviroments to make the code flexible in the rare case of a server change. Not to mention most of my work is for other people who don't give me full access to their servers, resulting in my having to make my coding VERY flexible.

Anyways, back to the matter of the templates, out of the ones you've put out, I'd go for the fourth one (the first one in the second listing). Having said that, I also like the anime_flower one (under the commercial templates on the last link). Personally, I'd go for a darker one, but that's me. :P
