hey everyone a little help please my computer does not start when my hardrive is inserted and when i try to insert it while my computer is on it shuts down help please

Internal or external hard drive.. also i'd need more info to be able to help :|

no it's my secondary one but it contains all of my files.my anime are on it,projects,installers,pics and documents these are all important

well plug it in and then check the order that your PC is loading the hard drives up, make sure it doesn't try loading that hard drive up as the first one instead of the one containing windows.

You could also go out and buy a HDD enclosure(external HDD case basically) and convert that drive to an external drive. That will by-pass any kind of problems you have while trying to use that HDD(as long as the problem ain't the drive itself). Sorta the 'cheap' way out of that, they usually run 15-35$ US for a nice case(can also find ones <10$ but they are usually cheaply made, I wouldn't drop below 15$ for one). Just gotta make sure you buy one that can support the kind of drive you have(size and kind).

Or just follow what Zanet said, just converting it to an external HDD could also be something to consider(not that expensive to convert to one, enclosures usually aren't that expensive). Just the converting to an external was how I by-passed a HDD problem I ran into a couple years ago.

Lol, are you refering to your messed up desktop. All we really need to do is to find a new vista OS for you. If we do that, I think everything should be fine.

that was the problem right? Your computer would boot up, but then shut down since the current OS was already in use on a different computer or soemthing?
