I guess the manga didn't interest me as much as the movie did, but I did read a volume or at least a few chapters of the manga.

I didn't like the drawings very much, but i liked the story and characters.

havent read the manga but ive gotten halfway through it and its starting to get boring. The same things happening for like 4 episodes

this was good manga too… but i hated the ending…
same goes with hikaru no go by the same artist… his endings arent my fav.

I personally like this series and just like you i don`t like L dies.Beside he was my favorite character.But overall this series is great

You should probably put that thing about L in a spoiler for people that haven't finished the whole series yet but anyways yeah once Mello and Neare came in the plot came to a point where it was absuloty obvious that Light was Kira to every one in the story I realized that it was going downhill fast.

Misa did it too, as told in, How to read; 13...

I hate her (Misa), I love the idea behind the manga, the art is also amazing but she (the creator) did fail and just went bad after *that*.

Misa seemed alright to begin with, but I think that towards the end she became a sort of comic relief. I haven't read the last volume yet though, so it might change (I live in hope).

As for *that*, I know what you mean. It just wasn't the same without him.
