best thing to do is to have a little notecard that says "I'm Hungry" in all the languages

Or maybe just a portable translator :/
Haraheta is japanese for hunrgy,
you could also point at your stomach and say "peko peko" it means completely empty and is used very informaly for hungry

Also i was wondering if you could get Rosetta Stone for russian. I would greatly appreciate it, arigatou gozaimasu

Still struggling to grasp the japanese sentence structure. Plus the everyday spoken language being different than the formal one doesn't make it any easier.

That's cool! I speak very very VERY little Japanese but i love to write in katakana. Romaji isn't easy though.

Zan Zan loves writing her Japanese in Hiragana, right Zan-chan?(^v^)

Well, maybe she didn't see the visitor message. I'm sure she knows Hiragana,Katakana and Romaji. I know her in real life and she writes. She's just looking for a Japanese class now.

We used to have someone who thaught us a little bit of Japanese when she was free. But she left back home to Japan after awhile. I miss Megumi-san...

Although I know that none of you are trying to insult the Japanese (which is a good thing, that you all do not know the slander)....

I wanted to warn you all:

The term 'Jap' is a racial insult.
Highly used during WWII.

It's been buried over the years, but 'Jap' and 'Nip' are the two worst Anglo-racial insults you can deliver. It's up there with Spic, Dago, Honky, and Ni****.

Of course it's ironic that so many of you who use the term don't know this. Which is actually a good sign! (the death of racial hatred)
But a good portion of people, especially Japanese, still remember it
.

So if you go off smiling about want to speak J** to someone who is Japanese - don't be surprised if you get a hostile reaction.
