I've browsed the whole thread, but not a single word...

All About Lily Chou-chou is the best Japanese movie I've ever seen. This is not just a movie shot by Japanes people and not something too strange and phylosophical like Takeshi Kitano movies (don't get me wrong, I am his fan, I love his works). All About Lily Chou-chou is something so real you refuse to believe it.

If you ever have a chance - WATCH IT. Endure it, because everyone who dream of Japan has to see this.

I think Death Note it's not so bad.... Shinobi can also be a consideration... and Nobuta wa Produce (nice funny J-movie)

I also thought Death Note movie was good. Afterall it was what made me watch the anime, because seriously how stupid does "school boy finds note book which kill people" sound.

Other than anime related movies, I thought Linda Linda Linda was hilarious.

not many japanese (non-anime) movies make it through other countries, but I watched and liked Zaïtoichi and Battle Royale (1st only, 2nd is crapily made).
