just a suggestion about encoding
pls consider encoding to h264 or x264 and the container would be mkv
it has higher quality than rmvb files

yeah it is but i takes more time to encode and not everyone knows how to encode to x264 or h264 here

just to dig this up and add some uploader comment to it, The reason so many people encode to rm and rmvb because it is so universal being that most computers have real player pre-installed. The second reason is because they are small and can be fairly good quality if you encode them properly.

And as a third reason, we at Zone-Anime do not require uploaders to encode in a certain format. It is all uploader preference. I for example like rmvb because my internet sucks for uploading. On the opposite side of things, my internet is great for downloading so I download mkv and avi so that when I encode to rmvb I have a quality file.

LOL, just throwing this out there. I'm getting Gundam 00 atm, but it's all in .mkv files, so in order to watch it on my XBoX, I have to convert em to .avi files.

So if anyone wants .avi files, HQ ones of course.

Interesting, in my experience Real Player is not installed on most PCs I see. I used to have it back in the day, and I hated how obnoxious it was putting crap all over my box so I haven't touched it since.

I personally prefer to avoid anything in an over-compressed format like rmvb. Maybe if I watched my stuff on my 17" LCD it wouldn't be so bad, but for large screens it blows. If I had my wish, everything would be minimum 720p with dual audio streams and softsubs

I did say most, but whatev. I guess it was just on the 5 or 6 that I have owned. I've had HPs, Dells, and Sony Viaos and all of them had it pre-installed on it. so I guess maybe not all computers have it but the majority of computers bought from those companies have it.

Plus not all rmvb are over-compressed. I stay away from rm because those are like 30 or 40 mb and suck, but my encodes for Rmvb are 80MB and they are comparable to the avi or mkv that I start with.

My main point is that I don't upload many files that aren't rmvb because my upload speed is 40kbps. TAKES FOREVER. My DL is almost 1mbps so I cant complain about that.

I'm sure a lot of other uploaders feel the same way about uploading large files.

I like the 40mb MKV ones that taurgis made. very nice quality for its size, and its better than those 75 mb rmvb ones.

right, mybe it will be advantage for ZA if all anime in Za Have format .Mkv 40Mb..
