I'm just amazed that hardly any government has taken more direct steps towards alternate fuels (read: Hydrogen cells), -- petroleum is a limited resources, and we've known that for years.
C'est le vie.
Rofl, no no no, we're their to liberate their oi...errr country, thats all. I used to be a soldier & I can tell thats a load of horse crap, we're only there to finish what Bush Sr started, by taking out Saddam, which Junior did to impress daddy, & now that thats all taken care of, we're hijacking his oil, so he can sell it back to us for Rediculous prices. Its nothing more than Extortion.

And what do you mean cheap for us Americans? Yeah it may cost more over seas, but do you realize how much of an increase in the years this idiots been in office how much gas has gone up here? It was $1.25 in 2000 when I came back from active duty, now 8 years later its 4.10 almost 4.30 & I don't even live in a metropolis, I'm telling ya, I'm just going to buy a horse if this keeps up, HI HO SILVER AWAY!

I think as long as the politicians in office refuse to allow more drilling and refuse to build more refineries the price of oil will keep going up.

70-80%?
The only countries I can think of that could possibly have that much are France and Japan.

Otherwise you are one lucky *******.

Then again, one should never trust someone with a pie.

You never know what they are going to do with it.

I know what you mean.
My brother is a Captain, and on his 5th tour, but I'm still not allowed to talk about this subject with him.
And although I agree with you about the oil, I actually think that that plan got foiled. The production rate isn't where the neo-cons wanted it to be. So they haven't reaped those benefits. But the as you say below, the price of gas has shot up, so they are getting what they want there.

I believe you must be responding to someone else, as I don't believe I said anything about it being cheap for us

It's horrendous.
And the current administration will not be held accountable for their hand in this.
It's bad enough that its happened, but its worse to know that those responsible will leave unscathed, and actually be rewarded for 'defending democracy and freedom' - when the results are hardly that.

I get the feeling that if Obama is the president, this would at least slow down...

Japan only gets around 30% of its power from Nuclear energy.

I guess I'm still in 'academic mode' despite it being Summer vacation.

Perhaps it's all the 'Cowboy Diplomacy' our beloved leader keeps using.

Anyway you can get it so that all the numbskulls that got us into this mess have to ride horses? And leave those who tried to stop it not having to share the same fate?
