About the DDL(CC) you would need bots for it and if I'm not wrong it costs or you could setup fserver.

and if it would cost you money to set up bots, I'd advise you not to do so ( refering to servant ). Lets just find someone who we can hijack a bot off of

Regardless, IRC has been a dying system for many years now, and, although one of the largest chat and file-sharing systems on the Net, it is highly out-dated and has been experiencing issues in compatibility with newer OS' and the ever changing systems that comprise the Internet. I'm not saying not to do it, by all means, do so, but not a lot of people would know how to use IRC, want to install the software on their PCs to do so, or even want to learn how to use it. IRC is from an older generation of people whom have simply faded away, and the newer generation doesn't want to do certain things because of this and that when they can get the same results by doing it another way.

Basically, IRC would be a two-edged sword, if it is set-up, I highly suggest using a free network that already exists, otherwise, it probably won't do very well. On a free network, the only real loss would be time and effort, but those whom run it would gain knowledge for later efforts. ^^
