you should definatly see gurren lagann. its a new classics, without a doubt. me and my friends watched it and started yelling "COMBINE!!" without apperant reason every now and then.. heh..
and i second Circle on getting a R4 cart. i have one and its great

and you can emulate old consoles you your PC too. i didnt like emulating on the PSP cuz the screen was so small...

Well, I can suggest anime and games that I've enjoyed, but it'd be easier if you gave some of the things you're looking for in a game/anime. Also, I don't know what systems you have, so this might be completely useless.
Games: Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
That's pretty much it. That game will keep you occupied forever; it's great.
Anime:
Baccano
Special A
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, though there are loads of great games and anime out there.

Just play RPGs they are nice and time consuming :

Gothic III, Fable, The elder scrolls IV : Oblivion , lol completing them should take a while (except for fable.. that can be finished in 1 day xD)
