It's New year eve today, however, everyone in my family are oversea, so now I'm home alone with nothing to do. anyone else at home alone on new year?

Well I don't know much about it or Chinese itself really, but if you can trust some sites out there, it's said that "Guonian" and "Bainian" are common expressions heard at this time. "Guonian" is said to mean to have made it through the old year and "Bainian" is said to mean to congratulate the new year... Just like said I don't know any Chinese or much about Chinese New Year, if those are what they mean, guess you could say those. (if not, sorry if means anything different)
