*nods*

Which is basically my situation.

I use an old Dell XPS 400
(a family gift, no way could I afford it otherwise)

I completely drool at hearing the specs described by some of you.

But in all honesty, I'm mostly only using it for 'Xp box that just surfs the net and runs Office apps'

The most I do is Dawn of War (Warhammer 40k), some LOTR Battle for Middle Earth II....and because of the d3 trailers, I broke out Diablo 2 again.

*sighs*
I miss the days when I had time to stay on top of cutting age gaming.

Wasted a lot of time, but it was so much fun.

Edit update:

Strahan, after reading your names of your machines - I noticed they all ended with 'th'.

Is that a Pern reference?

I bought cutting edge latest and greatest one time. Spent about $3000 on my gaming rig. It was a P4 3.0ghz ($500 cpu, now $48), 2 GB RAM, dual 36 GB raptors ($300ish each, now $120), Radeon 9800 Pro 256 video card ($550 bucks, now $200) and a bunch of other crap I don't remember. In like two years it was worth about half lol. So I don't waste my money buying into latest and greatest for gaming either, it's just not worth it.

Yes, good eye hehe. They're mostly all Pern dragon names except for "AIVAS" is the file server (I figured it's the repository of all my files, as AIVAS was the repository of all the settler's files hehe) and my firewall is "watchwher" since it provides the same "guard" functionality as a watchwher, albeit in a different manner lol :)

your right, but I know that So Me-san is using Adobe CS3 ... Which likes ram a whole whole lot.. and ram makes a big difference for CS3 when you use Filters....

512MB Corsair memory
80GB HD
Some 512MB NVidia that I forget the model number
Integrated 5.1 audio

Yeah pretty crappy laptop if you ask me, but this is the one I get later this year for graduation. Buy an HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Notebook PC notebook PC from HP Well Its either this or the less expensive 17" monitor one
Well I finally did something about my slow computer. I cant get the computer that I want until graduation in spring, so I went and upgraded from my 1/2 GB of ram to a full 2 GB of ram. With XP my computer is now cruising
