Good selection Zanet. I'm also a big Eddings fan. I liked his Elenium and Tamuli series too. Also loved Wheel of Time, even the books that the reviews blasted for his rather wandering prose. Sad that he died before completion, hopefully Sanderson will do the last installment justice.
My favorites would be: The plethora of Dragonlance books, best being the 1st 3 + Legends The various Forgotten Realms books revolving around Drizzt Do'Urden Raymond Feist's Riftwar books Jennifer Robbins's Cheysuli Chronicles Anne McAffrey's Pern books Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality Terry Brooks's Landover stuff Thorarin Gunnarsson's Starwolves (not really fantasy though I guess) I think that's it as far as my top favorites. I love reading, and some of those have been read more times than I can count. So many times that some, like Dragons of Autumn Twilight, are falling apart. I have a dedicated "reading room" in my house where I keep a comfy chair and my book shelf. I go in there, grab a book sit back and kick my feet up and lock the door so my girlfriend cannot annoy me. It always seems like she pesters me right when I'm in the last 20-30 pages of the book, when it's the most annoying to be distracted hehe. |

Wow, this is one of the first times that a majority of the books listed are ones that I also like! How awesome!
Here are some of my favorites: The Bartimaeus trilogy Artemis Fowl The Golden Compass trilogy Abhorsen trilogy The Hobbit (I'm probably one of the only people who actually liked the Hobbit...) & LOTR Harry Potter -I was waiting for the 3rd book of the the Eragon trilogy before I started, but now that it's out, I'll get it! -Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy <--I bought, but haven't had the time to read! I have heard great things about this series, though. **I also highly recommend Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore. I'm still going through those and haven't finished the whole story, but it is excellent for people who want a fairly deep fantasy with intricate plots. |
