Default Tales of Symphonia

Personal Notes: I think this game is definately one of the best I've ever played. It has a wonderfull battle system, graphics aren't too shabby, and the storyline isn't crap, for once. Characters are interesting too, and character developement is amazing.

Graphics: 6/10
Although the game is a bit old, the graphics are nothing to laugh at. Although the graphics are uncomparable to FF graphics, it is beautiful in its own simplisic way. Movie graphics however, are no different than in game graphics, which nukes down the rating quite a bit.

Gameplay: 9/10
This game is absolutely one of the best I've ever played. Although only Player 1 can control movement outside of battle, when a battle starts, 4 players can engage at the same time. Although the game can get pretty confusing navigation wise, as long as you remember to check synopsis and the map, you'll be fine. Movement across the continent in this game isn't exactly all that complicated either.

Sound: 7/10
Tales of Symphonia brings great voice-overs to the table. People's voices sound normal, unlike some other games. Sound effects are nicely done too; most of them match the situation that they're used in. However, some voices can tend to sound very strange coming from that character, and sometimes there is no talking at all.

Storyline: 7/10
Although the storyline seems a bit random at the start, it makes perfect sense near the end. It isn't exactly all that much of a unique plot, but its nicely put together enough so that you won't even notice that.

Playability: 8/10
A game you can play countless times over and over again. It's intricate battle system will leave curiosity in your mind as to how to create those special moves. Theres also the incredible multiplayer system that can allow up to 4 people to play the game at the same time. Although it starts off a bit annoying dealing with the camera angles, later on it just won't matter as much when you're deeply engrossed into the game.

Overall: 8/10
This game is absolutely great. I personally think its better than any of its "sequals", being any 'Tales of' game that was released after it. Although this game seems to be overshadowed a lot, if you were to play it, I'd almost guareentee you that you'd love it.

Yup...

This is my favorite RPG for GameCube =D:

Graphics [8/10] - By GameCube standards, the graphics are pretty good, especially during battle, without any lag even when a lot of stuff is going on... I loved the anime cutscenes ^_^

Sound [9/10] - Pretty good voice acting and music. I have nothing to complain about =O

Gameplay [9/10] - Wow... with the exception of some minor annoying things (when the enemy keeps killing you and you end up using all your items to win ), the battle mode is really fun and the maps of both Sylvarant and the other place are pretty big...

Story [7/10] - Enough to keep me interested... too predictable, though...

Overall (not an average) [9/10] - For any GameCube owners, not having this treasure is a shame... ToS is put together really well, and although nowadays it is a little bit rare to find, it's a good adquisition...

Also... SHEENA RULES!

If you have a PS2 it's on the PS2 also.

This was also my favorite game for the Gamecube. 100% items.

Spoiler!

I agree with EG (Sorry I'm too lazy to type ur whole name.) The graphics were good for its time and it presents itself with that Art feeling to it.

Everybody that likes this game should play the original Tales of Phantasia or the GBA remake.

Is it really on the PS2? I've been waiting for the release in the US which was suppose to be a while ago but it never happened.

So is it out for the PS2 now? I won't buy a Gamecube just for one game.

It's been out for the PS2 for a while, but its often overshadowed by the GC version.

In other words... it sux compared to GC, no idea why... Its just worse than the GC version

Hm, I bought this after I bought Wii, along with FE: Path of Radiance.... Neither of them really made me hooked. In FE I played around 5 first missions, and stopped there. In Tales of Symphonia, I played for around 20 hours and then stopped... Pretty basic in my opinion, kinda falls to the same league with Star Ocean 3 and MOST of the games Level 5 and Atlus make...
