I'm missing how someone could possibly manage to get a blue screen from a normal "demo" run :/

as for "updating" to Vista, I meant re-installing a new OS

Depends on your situation, if you have a computer with xp already on it stick with xp, if your buying a new comp go vista.

I have vista 32 pro and i have had no problems with all the games i have played so far, my system is new with vista so i have not tried to "update" from xp to vista as i heard doing that sucks balls.

For now I'll have to say XP for gaming since Vista itself has too many bugs and updates coming out. Even so Vista has version 10 of software which some of newer games need to run right I don't 100% trust vista in stableness.

Most computers carried in stores nowadays are Vista anyways, but I'm sure if you ask for a XP, you could get one >


If you are buying a new comp, make sure you aren't getting ripped off, like I did when I found out my 512mb video card was actally SHARED T.T

Sadly most graphic cards that are 512 will be standard 256 on board and leech 256 off you ram. Most graphic cards are doing that these days. Which really does suck. I had 1gb of ram in my pc at onetime then had to upgrade to 3gb because of my new gfx card which leeched off my ram >_<; evilness.

Go with vista, because it supports directx 10 and all the new games that are coming out. Prolly your best bet though would be to dual boot the OS with XP

Shared doesn't always mean that half of the video card is dedicated to ram and the other is dedicated to .. well video :/

sometimes there can be uneven proportions, and sometimes they just like screwing with you

I'm just saying this cause the graphic quality on my comp is no way a 256 mb :/

hated vista, now like it. Most of my games old and new were played on vista smoothy.

but in all truth, it all depends on what games you plan to play.
If they are mostly new, go with vista, but if they aren't go with XP till vista can support them


In other words, you'll ahve to use vista eventually
