Skunk story

This actually happened yesterday (its technically yesterday because I'm typing this at 1 in the morning), but I was getting ready to take my black lab for a walk. I went into our garage and walked into a smell that resembled a very potent onion. At first I couldn't figure out what it was so I continued. When my dog came into the garage, she immediately went over to a rack we have and stuck her nose under it. When she did this, I realized that there was a skunk in our garage. I put my dog back in the house and opened the garage door. I then inspected the area my dog was sniffing and saw the skunk, I then proceeded to get a broom so that I could try to poke the skunk out of the garage (bad idea, but thats the best I could come up with). After playing cat and mouse with the skunk for a bit it finally left. Several funny things came from this story. First off, while I was poking the skunk with the broom in one hand, I had my phone in the other trying to get a picture of the skunk. This is the only picture I could get
All the guys my mom told about my run in with the skunk thought it was awesome that I got a picture of it while she thought I was an idiot for trying to take the picture, guess its a guy thing then lol. Another funny thing is we suspect that this skunk actually came into our garage the night before some time. My mom noticed some damage to a vent in our garage the night before but thought the animal had escaped. Luckily she didn't notice the skunk in the garage yesterday morning when she went to go work out; at this time the skunk hadn't smelt up the garage, I was the first to get to walk into the stench. It freaked her out when she realized that she almost got sprayed by the skunk. Some last funny things are that our house smells bad now, I got to go to work with a slight scent of skunk on me (all my coworkers laughed when they heard my tale), and my dog luckily didn't get sprayed by the skunk when she first found it; this was her second time encountering a skunk, the first time lead to her getting sprayed, the only reason she didn't get sprayed this time was because the skunk sprayed the garage wall for some reason instead of her.
Spoiler!

LOL, funny story...
If I was in your position, I would've never even bothered to get close to the skunk, I'd be too scared TBH. |
