Which is better? Chrono Trigger or Chrono Cross

I own both of these games and have beaten Chrono Cross, but have yet to beat Chrono Trigger. I love both of them, but I have to say Chrono Cross is better. I'll wait for people to reply to discuss why I feel this way.

never heard of this series really i just read at wikipedia about Chrono Cross looks intresting maybe ill download it to my psp but the qustion is , is it really good looking forward for an answer.

Chrono Trigger destroys Chrono Cross!!!

Has anyone here played Radical Dreamers? It's suppose to be like a prequel or spin-off of Chrono Cross. It released for the SNES a while ago, it's like a visual/novel game sort off.

I played it and beat it, just wondering if anyone else has played it.

I've heard of both of these games, and by my opinion I've heard that Chrono Trigger is a LOT better.

They made a SC map for one of them... not sure which :/

I prefer Chrono Trigger, but then again I'm old, that was one of my fav newer SNES games that came out at the time, I've seen every one of the different endings it had. The whole Chrono Cross thing reminded me of what happened with Landstalker, they made this game that supposed to be like the sequel sorta, & it was called......errr the name escapes me atm, but Chrono Cross was much better than that spin off.

Hmm guess I'm in the minority on this one. Ok to explain my reasoning. I do love them both, but in my mind Chrono Cross is a little better. I loved the magic system in Chrono Cross: being able to use spells once a battle (unless multiple copies of the spell are equipped), I also loved the concept of consumable spells (ala FFVIII) as well as being able to use any healing spells left over to heal after each battle. I also liked the percentage strike system, not sure why but it seemed a little better than just simply choosing attack then choosing a target. What really blew my mind about Chrono Cross was the detail they put into the script. There were 100+ characters, but each character had something to say and it was written in a dialect that matched the characters personality. It was fun to play around with the characters to see how the script differs depending on what characters you had in your party as well as when they were in the party. There, those are my reasons that Chrono Cross stands out more to me, keep in mind that I do love Chrono Trigger, I just think Chrono Cross is slighty better, so don't flame me or anything

And yes, w07 go play them asap they are both classics that define what rpgs should be.

@ EstablishGeezer I'm pretty sure it was Chrono Trigger, I remember playing it but not sure what computer it was on so I'm not gonna bother looking for it. Also speaking of SC thats where I started using EsN_Fish as my name for everything internet related

i love both games, even though i prefer Chrono Cross just because i liked the OSTs more

i wish -and still praying- they would make Chrono Breaker...which was suppose to be the sequel of Chrono Cross but they canceled it
