I've only been watching Naruto and Bleach recently, and that is out of habit more than enjoyment.

So, I ask you this:
Being a huge fan of Ergo Proxy and Lain, I want a recommendation.

Note: if anyone so much as mentions the word "boogiepop", I will castrate them

, that show is... well, i can't think of a world adaquate to describe how awful it was

I think you'd enjoy Gankutsuou a great anime ^^. I think there are quite a few people who watch Bleach / Naruto just out of habit, the quality has gone down a lot in Shippuuden (Very slow + fillers..)

I did enjoy Gankutsuou, it was fantastic, so great recommendation, but I've seen it.

Try "Monster","Higurshi 1&2",FMP, or just go to aniDB and search using the genre you want to watch.

Yeah, I just got finished watching Ergo Proxy too, damn that anime is good, gonna start Serial Experiements Lain soon too.

But, an anime that seems familar...hmmmm....
Darker than Black? Never seen it before but the story seems like it's in that category

you may enjoy Full Metal Panic or Blue Gender. I liked both.
