A conflicting topic which should bring up opinions. I had to bring this up because i just finished watching an anime that scared the living s*** out of me, its called Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (When the cicadas cry). It makes Elfen Lied look like the Teletubies. No other anime has ever scared me the slightest until i saw this one. Anyone got anything else share.

Yea, i think that most people agree that that is one of the most creepiest animes out there.. i haven't finished watching it, i started a while ago and got confused, stopped watching and haven't bothered to finish it yet.. I think that there is also a 2nd season or something .. does it make sense in the end?

I haven't came across any "scary" anime up to now. However, I am watching Monster it can be a bit scary at times but dunno if it could fall under the category of Elfen Lied or When the cicadas cry. I doubt it though.

Yea I started watching Higurashi a while ago when someone from AniTube requested it...although I didn't really like it, it was the scariest thing I have seen....sooo bloody *shudders*

yea Higurashi No is something .. Elfen Lied too . but Higurashi is my favourite...

Higurashi is very confuse in first season cuz not all the fan have known about Higurashi game (traditional RGP). You can say both scary and disturbing.

Elfen Lied is a bloody killing story from the star so who got used to thriller type wont feel scare, just sick. The same could be perfect blue.

Another anime I want to suggest is ghost hunt. Some of its stories is really good ^^. the old one ... hump... pet shop of horror, red garden

Elfen Lied ending is sade, i hope ther will come in the future a second Staffel.

Ghost Hunt i don´t know this Anime. I think, i will watch it this Weekend.

i can't say scary, but Higurashi no naku koro ni was the most thrilling anime i've ever watched. the first season was warped in mestry and bloodier than the sequel. the second season *Higurashi no naku koro ni Kei* in the other hand held all the answers for the questions from S1...awsome story that will make you stick around it till the end.

Well, I agree with the general consensus that Higurashi is the scariest anime anyones ever seen, and Elfen Leid was fairly scary too. There's also this random OAV called Hide and Seek that I saw that scared me quite a bit, though I'm not sure where I got it or how easy it is to find.

Higurashi did make sense in some way at the end but it still left you thinking. Always leaves you thinking. Im going to watch the second season and jesus im still wondering if i have enough balls to go through with it. Ghost hunt? ill have a geez through it and see if it is any good.
