Once again I'm feeling like I've seen (or sampled e.g. didn't like it) everything worth watching these days Naruto(s), Bleach, Code Geass, Soul Eater, GITS 1+2 + Movies, Mnemosyne, 12 Kingdoms, Gurren Lagan, Samurai Champloo, Darker than Black, Fate Stay, Trinity Blood, Blood +, D-Gray Man, xxxHolic, Vampire Knight, Real drive, Lament of the Lamb, Ergo Proxy, Witch Hunter Robin, Kekaishi, Karas, DBZ, Baccano, Ai Yori Aoshi, Denno Coil, Gantz.. etc.. the list goes on...
Is there anything new thats really good but hasn't hit the mainstream? Any recent anime hat have taken you by surprise? Gotta feed my ani-diction somehow!

It has very few action(if at all), but has a lot of suspense. Monster, that is.
Not really something new(from 2004-2005), but is definitely a must watch. Also try Hajime no Ippo, it's about boxing, but you don't want to miss it. The action scenes are really well done, a really awesome anime overall. It's quite old BTW(2000-2002) Another good anime(movie) is Sword of the Stranger. Excellent sword battles, and not to mention the story is good. I think those would keep you busy for a while, specially that both Monster and Hajime no Ippo has around 75 episodes.

Monster is very bloody, but Hajime no Ippo is amazing. I reallly loved it
. for mystery well of course the biggest one and if you haven't watched it, go watch it it now: DEATH NOTE, lol Detective Conan (enjoy 500+ episodes :P), Mushishi (amzing anime), and a new one called Crystal Blaze...

Don't expect it to be feel-good though. Quote:
And DBZ is hardly 'new'. Therefore I'm going to assume you really want to focus on those two adjectives "suspense" and "Action" --correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise: 1) Gunslinger Girl 2) Hellsing (both original, and OVA) 3) Claymore (though the manga has a better ending, the anime ending is only decent) 4) Gundam (Anything but G-Gundam. Even Seed has it's share of minor suspense, and older Gundams can get quite dark and disturbing (with the old: Kill 'em all, philosophy) 5) Deathnote - already been mentioned. 6) Infinite Ryvius (more suspense then action, because its a Japanese take on the 'Lord of the Flies'. 7) Azamanga Daioh - just kidding!!!! Although why was Osaka holding that long knife....?? Chrono Crusade9) Elfen Lied 10) Hack/Sign, though it needed more action. 11) Full Metal Alchemist, though the suspense really comes through in the second season. 12) Scrapped princess (only minor suspense) 13) Vandread 1 and 2 (again, only minor suspense) (Pretty much like other action shows with a touch of mystery like: Mars Daybreak, Tactical Roar, Sky Girls, Stellvia, Vexille the movie, etc) 14) Cowboy Bebop 15) Last Exile (only moderate suspense) 16) Outlaw Star (only moderate suspense) 17) Mahoromatic (only suspenseful at the last episodes) 1 This Ugly yet Beautiful world (Gainex version action, suspense, and of course, ecchiness)19) Basilisk (also depressing) 20) Wolf's rain 'Suspense' can mean a whole gamut of things, so please forgive me if my definition of 'suspense' doesn't match what you were looking for. Ok, and one other thing if you really, really want to laugh: 21) Ghost stories. But do not, DO NOT under any circumstances get the subtitled version! It's boring as hell. ADV really they had a dog on their hands, and didn't even try to dub it correctly. Instead they dubbed it wrong, completely wrong...and pushed the boundaries of good taste. In all the right ways. ![]() Enjoy!! |
