I was in a discussion where Hyaweh brought up the point that it's an Anime Law (tm) that the bad guys either a) are foiled, or b) get killed, by the end of a series.

This led to a point where even if a bad guy is foiled, if enough good people are killed, or the city is leveled or like in Wolf's Rain:
then it really doesn't matter, because the good guys didn't really win anyway.

Ergo,
Can you list/give any anime's that the bad guys win.

If it's not a complete win, explain why it should still count.

And again, please use SPOILER TAGS where common sense dictates.

The only classic example where the bad guys win hand's down, that I can think of off the top of my head, is the 1978-1981 non-anime, British Sci-Fi series Blake's 7.

Feel free to wikipedia it to see why.
