Although I know that none of you are trying to insult the Japanese (which is a good thing, that you all do not know the slander)....

I wanted to warn you all:

The term 'Jap' is a racial insult.
Highly used during WWII.

It's been buried over the years, but 'Jap' and 'Nip' are the two worst Anglo-racial insults you can deliver. It's up there with Spic, Dago, Honky, and Ni****.

Of course it's ironic that so many of you who use the term don't know this. Which is actually a good sign! (the death of racial hatred)
But a good portion of people, especially Japanese, still remember it

So if you go off smiling about want to speak J** to someone who is Japanese - don't be surprised if you get a hostile reaction.
