Hmm been thinking about hacking my slim...
Mostly for the better battery life, and faster loading...
I wrote this letter to sony before the Slim came out.
Would it be possible for the psp to use the Memory Card as a cache for the current game in the umd?
The number one complaint about the PSP that I have is the constant loading during game play.
This is the only reason I can see for using an Open Firm ware. Improved Game Play.
Case in point one of my friends has 3.03 oe-c on his psp. This has cut down the constant loading
time on all of the games he plays.
He introduced me to Spectral Souls, on his psp which he plays from His Memory card which has almost
no load times.
Where every action I take in the game is met with almost a three second pause.
We compared the loading times for different actions taken in the Game Spectral Souls, as it has the
most profound difference in game performance.
My psp is less than three months old, while my friends is almost one year old.
Firm ware is 3.11 on my Psp and 3.03 OC-C on his
we both have a SanDisk Pro Duo 4 Gig Memory Stick.
Times are average from 10 timed sets
The largest time difference form our test was a 1.5 seconds spread So Times should be Min Time
-1.5 Max Time+ 1.5

Running this game off a Memory Card. is a 66% faster than from the UMD, Cutting this time out
makes the game much more enjoyable. I want to play the games not watch the Disc Access flash every
few seconds.
With larger Memory Cards now common, I would Like to see an option to set a Game Cache file - To
hold graphics, animations and sound. Form the Game so they do not have to be streamed off the disk during play.
Thank you .
