I would agree, Chinese view Japanese very badly (with much reason, although much time has passed since Nanching and other 'events'), and in some way still, so the Japanese still reject what happened (pre 45' history is heavily censored, distorted or officially ignored).
As for America & Japan, relations are generally good, there is some economic rivalry (especially since USA has more things made in China now), but at least in the WW2 respect, they have found a 'common ground/understanding.'
It would be nice if China and Japan could both civilly acknowledge what happened and come to terms with the history of the those troubled times.
But this cannot happen, at least never in China, as some of the earlier events of the Chineses Civil War, and its associated horrible events, have been blamed on the Japanese as a scapegoat for both KMT/ROC & PRC purges.
