He, and he's twenty-six. Only finished college there a couple of years ago. . Our original teacher got fired for a mishap during a French class trip (half the foreign language department got fired, actually), and so they had to hire someone less qualified to teach. 'Cause the principal's a dork.

Anyway, as for how conservative they are, in some respects, yes, they are rather open. Heck, just look at the whole Meiji era. They went from feudalism to a modern society in fifty years. However, their opinions on women are still fairly iffy. Comarable to womens' rights in the United States prior to the World Wars, in reality. So unless schools in fairly rural areas are radically different from those in major cities such as Tokyo, they're not going to be wearing mini skirts.

Then again, they could be radically different from major cities. I wouldn't know about that.
I agree with you. Most of the people on this topic seem too immature to think straight.
Japan is really conservative in some aspects and open in other. In Japan it’s looked down on to even kiss someone in public. When I was in Japan (December 2005) I didn’t see any school girls wearing mini-skirts. I did see Ayumi Hamasaki clones though *twitch*. I went to 3 concerts there and not one person wore a mini-skirt either. The shortest I saw people wear was like just above their knees. For people who are thinking of going to Japan to get a Japanese girl in bed, lol, good luck! Oh, and if you are only going their for girls in mini-skirts & anime…lmao, you’ll be disappointed.
